Get away day for both teams...swing early and often!

What an odd thing to say just after Soriano homers on the 7th pitch of his AB.

I only have access to game day and noticed both pitchers had low pitch counts so it was posted before I knew Soriano came to bat.

And since then, Baker had a 5-pitch single and Soto a 6-pitch walk.

So they are making him work after a 6 pitch first inning and 5 pitch fourth inning. Again Buehrle had 37 pitches through 4 innings. Maholm only has 60 pitches through 5. That is pretty low.

You had one job, David. ONE JOB.

Also, this may be one of the worst last name spelling match-ups of all time.

edit: We'll hold David's spot for tomorrow's game

I forgot we won. WHOOPS.

Am I crazy, or haven't the announcing teams already had a conversation with Gary Sinise this year?

iirc, the game he was going to sing was delayed and he had to leave early

Hey Bukie - Bottom of the 6th for the Cubs - 4 batters (including two hits), 5 pitches and the inning is over. Swing early, swing often is back.

I just find it funny how the same team can take such different approaches in back to back innings. Not trying to start an argument.

The way Maholm has been pitching it won't be long until he has his own trade thread

Was just thinking this. That signing seems like a pretty awesome move on the front office's part.

Maybe we should just offer a volume discount
