Our pitching depresses me a little every single day, it seems. At least Concepcion has been shelved awhile.

Vitters with an E already, poor throw in the first pulled 1b off the bag.

Yeah, the pitching is awful from an upside perspective until our draft picks get going. I'm finding myself hoping Taylor Scott can break out and give us at least one guy outside our draft to put some hope into. If not, Rosario is pretty much all we've got. Wells and Maples being hurt haven't helped this front at all obviously either.

Apparently Hayden Simpson is now hitting 92:

Idaho Statesman[/url]"]His fastball is topping out at 92 mph, an increase of three mph from last year, helping the bite on his slider and sinker and keeping batters off balance with his changeup.

Three mph is a huge difference in velocity, Hawks pitching coach David Rosario said.

“We’re looking forward to seeing maybe two more (mph) into next year, and if that happens, then things are going to start changing,” Rosario said.

“Anything up to 90 is hittable. Anything mid 90s is really tough to hit.”

I think Hoyer said we'd be surprised at HOW big Soler is. Projecting him out, he's going to be a monster physically.

Really glad I live near Peoria right now :D

soak it up, he'll only be there another month and a half

I will. I'll be seeing the game on Monday, too.
