Ugh. Fans calling into WGNs postgame show saying they don't want to trade Dempster among others because they are playing so well and think the Cubs can get back into the race this year. Unreal

They must know that we have something young and valuable stashed away somewhere, and the only way to win is to exchange it for something old and gritty. Ironically, they likely cheered when Jim Hendry was fired, but weren't quite sure why.

gonna guess that the mouth breathers who think the cubs still have a shot have no idea who javier baez is.

"I don't know who he is but I'll bet he doesn't have a very good work ethic."

so small, so nervous

I prefaced all of my Dempster comments admitting they were wrong on irrational on my part. Now I have to see this ignorance every time Dempster has a good outing. Do you not think there is at least a tiny difference between this game (middle of the season on a team going nowhere) and the first game of the first round of the playoffs? I stand by my comments. He was at his worst when the pressure was at it's peak.

I tell you, I get so annoyed when Dempster has a good outing. It is so frustrating. Why can't he just suck all the time? [-(

It's ok, you'll never be known as the biggest dempster hater on this board.

That's just it. I'm not a Dempster hater. Far from it. I just think he needs to be moved at the deadline for prospects that can contribute when the team is good. Likewise for Soto, and to a lesser extent Garza. I stand by my comments and I feel strongly that Dempster is not a big game pitcher. That isn't the reason I want to see him traded. He's been very good the first half of the year and I'm thrilled for that.

I realize that and I was just tweaking you a bit. You are not the only person who dislikes Dempster on this site (and far from the most fervent hater) so I'm not sure why you feel called out by what El Duderino said.

Ryan Dempster is a stupid little loser, and he wets his pants whenever any sort of big situation comes up in any game. I would be willing to bet his kid really isnt his because he surely wouldnt be able to handle the pressure of child conception given his inability to handle any sort of pressure on the baseball mound.

Then we better hope there are some below .500 teams looking to add a guy who they know won't help them in any significant games for no apparent reason.

He only surfaces when Dempster has a bad game, and I think he's only had like 1.
