So what are the odds that Anthony Rizzo is packing for Minnesota before lunch time?

They've already stated that he's not going to be called up for the interleague games only to be sent back down. Once he's called up later this month, he's here for good.

 

I thought that it was around the time of the draft when it wouldn't impact his service time. Too bad. This would have been a good opportunity to play Soriano at DH(which they said he will), Rizzo at 1st, and let LaHair log a few innings in LF, and if it appears too disaterous, put in Johnson as a defensive sub.

 

The only reason could otherwise see not to call him up is if they really don't see LaHair having any chance at LH at LF and are trying to move him and want him to keep at 1st until they do.

Welington Castillo (knee) is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment Friday with Double-A Tennessee.

Castillo landed on the disabled list a little over two weeks ago with a mild MCL sprain in his right knee. The Cubs could option him to Triple-A Iowa once he's back to full health
