Now if they'd just given Castro the night off and had Barney at SS and somebody with less range at 2nd, that play never happens.

Then it sound like the injury delay on game day isn't Castro or Samardzjia, so I don't care.

.... and if frogs just had wings, they wouldn't bump their little butts on the ground !!!

Hey, at least mine isn't in fantasy land!

Now that I've taken my first look at the Cub's lineup, it's no exaggeration that it is the single worst that I've ever seen. And I'm talking ever.

I'm sure I could find a post-clinch lineup from '08 that is worse, along with tons of lineups from '06 in about 5 minutes but why bother?

If my wife had balls, the GOP would have opposed our marriage.

Barney hurt himself mildly by knocking the ball out of DJ's glove.

Now wait a minute...... Castro has started every game this year..... ergo Barney hasn't started a game at SS..... and the CUBS don't have a 2b with less range than Barney.... but, yes, you're well grounded in reality !!

btw.... greetings from Maryland Heights !!

You're opening up the door to a whole lot of really ugly retorts.... let's don't go there, eh?

Say what you will about the '06 team, but they had 4 regulars: A Ram, Jones, Murton, and Barrett with OPS well above .800. We have one, and he's out of the lineup.

I can't breathe life into the Cubs, but maybe I can into the game thread.

When bob said "or in front of is parents" he should have kept going with a list of other ways Hill hasn't homered.

Edit: he's never homered on a pitch he swung at that bounced well in front of the plate.

Does Koyie Hill have any hitting ability at all? How about plate discipline? They were trying to pitch around him and he swung at 4 straight pitches, all of them balls and a couple way outside. It looked like he was closing his eyes and swinging, begging for something good to happen.

You do realize that the CUBS acquired him off the roster of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, right ???

There was 0 doubt in my mind that the leadoff double would not leave the comfort of 2nd base.

Well your mind was wrong because he made it to 3rd.
