I don't have time to look at every player's schedule for a week at a time and pick the best matchups for hitters and SPs. So I'll do what I can but may well just not touch my lineup at all then.

You're aware the whole schedule is available for your whole team each week, right? This takes very little time and certainly less than daily swaps. For the pitchers, its really a matter of planning to make changes one day a week that isn't Sunday.

yeah pitchers start once or twice a week, and theoretically amass a lot of points when they do start (exception: yu darvish), so you need to shuffle them in and out. i'm happy leaving the rules so that we set non-SP positions at the beginning of the week and leave it like that. no need to reward people who swap in a reserve outfielder because another one of their outfielder's games got rained out.

Kotchman was benched for being terrible so I dropped him. Rivera was picked up as a replacement, which I thought was okay as long as I was releasing a player.

It had nothing to do with today, it was because he got benched yesterday. If that isn't kosher, then I'll just take Kotchman back for the rest of this week and replace him for next week.

Yes, take Kotchman back for the rest of the week. But I think that you will need someone with commish powers to do so. Kotchman should have to go through the waiver process first without their magical powers.

The replacement rules are as follows

1) You can bench a player for day-to-day injuries, but he has to be replaced by someone already on your bench. A day-to-day player has to have that little red cross symbol on CBS.

2) You can put your player on your DL, if and only if he is actually on a major league DL. If your player is on a DL, then you can pick up a free agent replacement.

3) If you make a trade than you can adjust your line-up to reflect the trade.

4) This year you can pick up a FA in order to make 7 starts, but be careful. If you make a player a FA, then you may lose him through the waiver process.

5) An opponent of the Quakers can only have so many 30 point starts in a week:)

Will a commish verify what I said (or correct me if I am wrong) and allow him to put Kotchman back into his line-up?

BTW - We may change into a daily league next year (I would rather not, but that discussion can wait), but this season has already started. Let's play ball with our current rules. We should not be making major changes to the rules in the middle of a season.

No making a roster change is fine

if we were going to consider changing the scoring, i'd petition that pitchers be awarded points less generously. jaime garcia's line today was: 4.2 INN, 11 HA, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 K. that is a bad outing, but he got 5.5 points. right now each out is awarded 1.5 points... maybe reduce it to 1 point? could bring pitching scores more in line with hitting scores.

I thought about that recently, but I actually think this system is really solid. We award pitching, not wins or losses. Pitchers have one goal; get 27 outs. While the individual numbers of a great pitcher will be higher than a great hitter (say Kershaw over Kemp), we have 9 hitters and 5 starters. So, when you build a team, you can try to lean heavily on 500+ point batters and sacrifice on pitching, or focus on getting 3 or 4 great pitchers. At the end, the totals for hitters and pitchers are roughly equivalent when you combine the numbers.

With that said, nothing swings a week like a 2 start masterpiece by an ace.

I'm not sure that anyone came back and won with yesterday's points, so the W-L records may be correct, but it's still important to get the points right for the week for tiebreaker situations down the road.

CBS seems to be having quite a few issues since the season started. If you also notice the custom stat reports don't work either.
