Through 3 innings, Smardz has thrown 19 pitches, 15 of them for strikes. Not bad at all. 2K and 2H. 0's everywhere else.

He's been pounding the strike zone in his last couple starts. The last one, he got hit hard for it. Not today, yet.

Shark finished with 6IP, 3H, 1 BB, and 5K's. No runs allowed. Would love to hear velo reports, because Law quit tweeting after the 2nd. 91-93 in first, 94-96 in second.

Law was just asked about Samardzija and said he's going to write a blog on it. Definitely the best he's ever seen him. Damn. That's awesome.

samardzija could actually add some value on top of his pitching by being a good hitter. he won't be micah owings but he did show some ability at the plate while in the minors and has a major league home run as well.

#Marlins RHP Carlos Zambrano (6 walks in 4-plus innings tonight) has issued 15 walks in his past 12 1/3 innings (three starts).

I'll take Volstad, thanks a bunch. \:D/
