Normally, abandoned teams are replaced by now. Rosters are supposed to be pared down and everyone's money is supposed to be in the commissioner's hands as we venture into a new fantasy baseball season. Any rule changes should be getting discussed now along with just getting familiarized with our teams and the available talent pools and draft orders once again.

Robert hasn't been replaced. DeShawn and Chuck's levels of participation have been disappointing. Don had expressed interest in moving on. A few other managers are in jeopardy of not having their rosters pared down or their fees paid in on time.

Is trimming the league size a better idea than trying to find last minute managers to replace the non active managers? And if it is, there is probably a lot to discuss in how to go about doing this.

i thought mariner's revenge said he'd take over rob's team. we should probably get some input from the non-active people as to whether they still want to participate. don said that he was in for this year; his wife said she'd make sure he'd have time to do the league.

i do agree that there needs to be some arm-twisting, though, considering how many people haven't pared down their rosters and submitted keeper lists. if tim isn't up to it due to work/nsbb/family duties then it would be best to have another commissioner or at least someone to help him bust chops.

That's basically what I'm getting at. We should already have 16 commitments to play this season and new people in place if someone isn't playing this year.

Deadlines to pay and pare down rosters is today. Managers taking over a team need time to acclimate themselves to how the league works, otherwise they won't have any interest in playing.

I'm in and my roster's done.

It is still Valentine's Day isn't it?

As far as my lack of participation, I don't believe I have hurt the league at all. I pay attention to my team. I made several trades in season and this offseason. Not sure what else I can do, other than post in this forum and get involved in the silly arguments that constantly go on.

i would think that reducing by four teams would be kind of a last resort, because our keeper rosters are kind of based on it being a 16 team league (i probably wouldn't keep gaby sanchez or brian matusz if it weren't such a large league), and it would put a lot more talent in the draft than normal. hopefully someone will pick up rob's team and the people who have been absent will get moving with some cajoling from tim and others.

I could be wrong but I don't recall seeing any league emails go out for a while, that could help. I think some of us have been in this league for a long time and it takes a little bit of time ot get flowing again. I don't check this part of the board that often, and I know some others are the same way.

agreed, i think an e-mail needs to go out. we've still got 5 or 6 people who submit their keeper lists before we can start to draft.

Seriously, I've been putting in 18-20 hour days at the customer for several weeks now. I'll start to free up a bit next week (hopefully), but just cannot take time right now.

Can one of the several people with commish powers help out?

I'll ping Chuck and tell him he's either got to step up or he'll get replaced as there was at least one other person that expressed interest in replacing Rob.

Sending me the $9 for your team last year would be a good start. I'm not hurting for the money, by any means. I just don't understand why you never bothered to pay your portion. It was brought up numerous times that you still owed. You acknowledged it at one point, and said you would send it in. That's probably why I included your name, coupled with the fact you had not yet pared down your roster yet, and Tim had not listed you as paid for this year yet.

I've held out my payment for this season until we actually had some definitive activity on whether or not this season was even going to happen. Now that I've seen this I will send my payment via paypal before the end of the week.
