i assume it's at least 2 years... that chapman signing isn't looking too hot considering that he barely pitched in the majors in 2010, wasn't that good last year and now looks like a middle reliever (with marshall the setup man) for 2012 and probably 2013. Edited January 11, 2012 by TruffleShuffle

Well, he's closing on a team that's certainly a contender. But, at least at this stage, he's got to be the biggest loser of this FA class. Unless he got a multiyear deal, which I kind of doubt.

That is a nice addition to a strong Reds team, hard to argue they might not be the favorites on paper going into the season. However, we all know that Dusty is the great equalizer...

Nice all-in signing. solidifies the back end of the pen, putting Marshall in arguably a more useful role as a fireman type.

 

Truffle, I believe they are going to shift Aroldis Chapman to the rotation for 2012. Or at the least, give him a long look in the spring.
