How do you suggest the Bulls pay for these shooters and guys that can create with the basketball given the salary cap?

Amnesty Boozer. Brewer, and Korver all have team options I believe they can decline to free up space.

 

What do you suggest to get Mirotic over sooner?

That's the only tough one, it's not the buyout, but per CBA rules, we can only offer him the slotted draft/salary system for now(restriction expires 2014, I believe)

Bench mob disappears again in the playoffs. Sigh. I knew the title was up in smoke without Rose, I didn't figure this series was.

Because *gasp* benches don't matter in the playoffs. The regular season and playoffs are different things and Tom Thibodeau has yet to prove he can coach in the playoffs. This team was bad in the playoffs last year despite getting to the ECF and relied on Rose way too much. This team doesn't win a title with Rose but they're obviously in better shape. John Paxson NEEDS to improve this team.

That's ridiculous. If the supporting cast is really this bad outside of Rose, then highly unlikely they get past Miami.

Come on, look at this team. They can't score. You can't sit there and rely on Rose scoring 35 points a night to beat the Heat. It's not going to happen. The Heat can just put LeBron on Rose since Deng is worthless on offense and he can shut him down. The Bulls need to add scorers around Rose and won't win until they do so. Defense only takes you so far.

I read in an article that the Bulls want Derrick to have his surgery done by the Bulls medical team because he's comfortable with them over Dr. James Andrews. I laughed.

The Bulls can free up about 10 million of space by amnestying Boozer, cutting Brewer, Korver, Watson, and not re-signing Asik. But then they only have 6 players on the roster so they would have several holes to fill with that limited space.

 

If they just amnesty Boozer, they would be able to use the full mid-level exception instead of the mini one they'll be able to use now by being a taxpaying team. Of course that's also 47 million out of the Bulls pockets for a player who wouldn't be playing for them anymore. And if they did use the full-mid level exception, they'd probably be looking at jumping back into the tax the very next year to re-sign Gibson.
