Is this type of injury a freak thing, or was his knee "ready" to pop? Meaning: can I be less mad about Thibs having him out there if this was bound to happen anyways

I'm still interested in seeing what a Rose-less Bulls will do. Still think they can beat Boston.

There's certainly a chance. I wouldn't make it more than 50/50 though...not sure how the other Bulls fans here feel.

I wouldn't either but they still have a strong defense, good rebounding and have home court advantage. It actually could be a really good series.

I don't know the answer to the first part of your question, but no you cannot be "less mad about Thibs." Even if the injury was bound to happen sooner or later, it happened "sooner" at a completely unnecessary time.

If you're going to find fault in Thibodeau, I would think it would have to be for doing so much with Derrick in the regular season, which probably has much more to do with it(in an "injuries beget injuries" sense) than taking him out with 2/3/5/40 mins left in the game.

The more I read about today's game, Thibs was justified in keeping him in. I didn't know Philly was cutting the deficit to 12 from 20. It is a playoff game where you have to make sure to close out. I'm more disappointed in letting Rose play in a few games during the regular season when I didn't think Rose was totally healthy and they didn't need him to defeat Charlotte and New Orleans.

Rose should tough it out just like Cutler did in the 2011 playoffs. This is a blue collar town!

yeah when are other NBA players going to tweet about what a [expletive] Rose is?

I'm trying to think of one NBA player who doesn't like him other than his injured Adidas compadre Dwight Howard.

makes me sad that our window might be wasted by this. i'm so convinced this team would have beaten miami if healthy.

Not only that, but we probably won't fix possible holes that may have shown than a series with the Bulls at full strength. If we get to the ECF's and get steamrolled by the Heat, Foreman/Paxson will probably just shrug their shoulders and bring the entire team back intact.

Kick the tires on a Dwight deal this offseason, get Mirotic over here ASAP, and pray Rose comes back the same.

i hate that something as relatively insignificant as sports can make me feel so [expletive]

Yeah, I really envy people that don't care about this [expletive].

This NBA Finals will be 14 years since a team I care about has won, really should be used to stuff like this.
