Now, there isn't any official word that the team is looking to trade him yet, I just ran across some speculation articles:

Lincecum probably would be a lock to be a 4-5+ WAR player, but it would probably take a huge haul to get him and he'd still be really expensive through his final arbitration years. It would probably be better to go after Wilson instead.

I bet the Giants would demand Castro or they'd simply clean out our farm system. I really like Lincecum, but I'd go for Wilson first or if I'm taking the trade route, just go all out and try to pry away King Felix.

Yeah Lincecum is the kinda guy you hope to develop and then sign longterm to a team friendly deal. It would take way too much to get him.

Short of dealing Castro, I truly think we can NOT even make this type of deal. Lincecun is going to command a top 10 prospect as the start to a deal, plus more. Other teams have them, we don't right now. Next year, which is probably a more likely scenario for him getting dealt anyway, we may be in different shape. But, right now, even if we offered Brett, McNutt, Szczur. And Cashner, someone would offer more from a quality vs. Quantity standpoint. Next year though, he'd be a helluve pickup, and one I could see Theo trying his damndest to acquire.

Don't think we have the chips to land Lincecum without giving up Castro, and as good as Lincecum is, it's probably not the wisest move to make at this point, to say the least.

i think sanfran needs outfielders. badly. give them a big power bat for the OF and they'd be happy. i think i read somewhere they are looking to replace the entire OF.

No way in hell the Cubs have anything close to what it would take to get Lincecum. I doubt he gets traded but if I had to guess I'd say he's going to Texas.

I highly doubt it. No way. SF fans would throw a fit. People still haven't forgiven the team for the Zito deal, even after a WS. It would be the worst PR move ever. What? We sign Zito for a zillion dollars and let Timmy go? Everyone here seems to assume that Lincecum will be re-signed.

And I also doubt Lincecum ends up on the Yankees. Can't see him playing in NY.
