I'm torn on whether he's about to break out or whether he's the next oliver perez.

 

At the end of last year I would have bet money on the former. Now I'm inclined towards the latter.

If they're looking to simply dump him to save money, which it looks like they might (5.2 mill most likely), then it might be worth it to throw him into the backend and find out. Depends what other options are lined up for us though.

With a good pitching coach, he's certainly a guy to watch. If the price isn't high, take a flyer and hope it works out. Buy low guy who could turn into a stud.

I don't have any immediate desire for Sanchez, but as pernially starved for offense as the Giants are, any chance that they'd swap him for Soriano and pick up say 25% of his contract?

I would start with Byrd and see whatelse they ask for, IF Sori gets moved i think it would have to be an AL team that is willing to take the chance.

The obvious problem is that Sanchez isn't a guy coming over from the AL to the NL, he's coming from a weak division full of hiitter fiendly parks, obviously aside from Corrs where he's been mediocre at best.

Yeah I see the same parallels...That said, for the right price I'd try him out.
