"Golden Era" Committee -- Santo Back on Ballot

It will piss me off a little if they vote him in now.

 

Really, it will just be very bittersweet. But I hope he gets this recognition.

Had to do some hunting, but here are the committee members that will be voting.....

 

Those voting on their Hall of Fame chances include Hall of Famers Hank Aaron, Al Kaline, Ralph Kiner, Tom Lasorda, Juan Marichal, Brooks Robinson, Don Sutton and Billy Williams, executives Paul Beeston, Bill DeWitt, Roland Hemond, Gene Michael and Al Rosen (retired) and veteran reporters Dick Kaegel, Jack O'Connell and Dave Van Dyck.

 

Ken Boyer, Minnie Minoso, Tony Oliva, Allie Reynolds as well as former Dodgers general manager Buzzie Bavasi and former Athletics owner Charlie Finley also will be on the Golden Era ballot, along with Jim Kaat, Luis Tiant, Gil Hodges and Santo.

[expletive] the HOF. I'll obviously be happy if he makes it but I'm not eagerly anticipating the results. I hope that if he does make it, his son accepts it for him and tears apart the HOF.

Gil Hodges probably has more claim than Santo, but both should be in. Tiant and Kaat were great too. May as well just make it like the NBA HOF where all decent players eventually get in.

I think people only get upset because making the HoF meant so much to Santo, and now he'll probably get in posthumously and never get to experience the induction ceremony
