Well in his defense there's not much need to coddle a 34 year old veteran pitcher. Dempster isn't some young gun who's bullets need saving at this point in his career.

But he also let him make the 2nd out in the 7th inning while batting. The only reason Dempster should have taken that at bat would have been if someone had been on base and he sacrificed. Otherwise, he was giving up the 8th to last out in a 1 run game. Terrible.
