Justin Hunter tweaked his knee during the first drive of the game and won't return today. I'm really concerned that he's going to be out for a while - just hoping it's not an ACL tear.

And the Tennessee defense just forgot to cover Chris Rainey. No offense and at 30-7, this one's over.

that geico commercial with the beagle and singing cockatoo is so, so awful

It is. But -- I think in that case, they were going for awful.

Mainly, I think geico and progressive should simply advertise less. We all know they exist, and they want us to insure our stuff through them.

The Garrett Gilbert era is officially over. Malcolm Brown is going to be a stud, Jaxon Shipley already is.

I loved how UCLA didn't cover Shipley on half his receptions. :banghead:

they may have been going for awful, but it wasn't even stylized awful, it was a trite, non-sequitur lazy mess. i cringe every time i see that falcon commercial, too.

Miami pretty much dominating OSU right now.

Why does Jacory Harris start this game? He is the interception king.

Army 21

Northwestern 14

Pat Fitzgerald punted from 4th & 3 on the Army 31. Pretty damn conservative coaching for "the heart of a wildcat".

Weird, considering he pretty much lost his mind over that bogus personal foul call on the sidelines.

Is Army actually respectable this year or are we looking at a terrible Northwestern season? I guess the next few weeks will tell.

That's almost bad enough to warrant a gambling investigation.

Northern Illinois put up 49 on Army.

I think NU will still be a bowl team. The road win over BC with a backup QB in synthesis with 5 B1G teams losing early probably falsely raised hopes (at least mine) though.

If it wasnt for Kansas today, I'd say this was the worst play calling/plan against triple option team I'd ever seen. NU's most bare position on either side is LB, so why run a 3-4? 90% of teams who beat Army's double eagle defense do it via a passing prone game. That type of defense crowds the box, so why didnt we try to throw our usual high percentage passes until Q4? Ebert, Dunsmore, Jones, Lawrence, Brown - one of the best groups of WRs in the league, and they were hardly used.

Most important play of the game. Trumpy, Mark, Green, the above 5. Who's number does Pat Fitzgerald call? Jacob Schmidt, who trips over his own feet. I'm sure he's a nice guy - but, come on - I'd rather give the ball to a rented mule. Give the ball to your best players. Just horrible coaching. Congrats to Army.

Huge call on this review, since they can't measure anymore.

EDIT: Probably the right call, but damn, moved the spot by 3 yards.

So...4th down for Illinois, 4 seconds to play. Do you punt it, or just try to kill 4 seconds? I'd try to just kill 4 seconds here and don't commit a penalty.

EDIT: Yep, Scheelhaase took a deep snap and just sprinted backwards for 4 seconds. It'll kill his rushing average, but the game is won!
