Just heard on the radio that Carpenter said F you to him after he struck him out and that's what set him off. Doesn't make him any less annoying, but at least he kind of had a reason this time.

Morgan was yapping the instant he swung and missed. He was still on his side of the batters box. I don't know how Carpenter would have had time to say [expletive] you before Morgan was jawing.

Carpenter even mentioned he started it. Carpenter is the biggest cry baby in the league. This is not surprising.

You do realize the Brewers are the most arrogant and cocky team in the Majors, right? You better expect some people to start taking exception to their antics on the field that include doing that lame "beast mode" crap after a routine single in a game in which they are losing.

The only reason people don't realize just how big of douchebags several of the Brewers are is that they haven't played many national games. I'm surprised teams haven't started throwing at them.

Anyway, basically what I'm saying is the Cardinals are douchebags. But it's funny hearing a Brewer fan complain about the Cards when his team has so many douchebags themselves.

Well that certainly will settle things.

Carpenter said Morgan had been running his mouth all game and apparently didn't like it when he said something back. Carp wasn't the one yelling immediately after the pitch, walking down the line yelling or flinging a mouthful of chew in Morgan's direction. You're right that Carp's a huge [expletive], but you're just being a homer on this one.

Won't settle anything, but maybe an ass whipping would help him realize that he's not a badass because he played hockey as a teenager.

You do realize it came from a previous incident that Morgan initiated, right?

Oh, definitely. The Cards hate Morgan from some incident when he was with the Nats. Plus he was talking trash after he doubled earlier in the game. He's an idiot, but Carpenter definitely said something to him. Like I said though, that doesn't excuse his idiotic behavior in any way. I actually kind of like Carpenter telling him f you after he struck him out in the midst of a CG shutout. But he's a prick on the field too.

Oh?

Yeah. Getting into it with Carpenter, Pujols or Molina would not be his wisest choice. Being a bad junior league hockey player only takes you so far.

You're right that it won't really change anything, I just don't understand how you tolerate it out of such a completely mediocre player. If Prince or Braun gets hurt because Nyjer Morgan, sorry, T Plush, is an idiot who can't handle getting his talk returned...

Again, Carpenter started it. Carpenter is the biggest b---- in the league. He crys about everything. From bad fielding to bad calls to fielders forgetting his glove. There is a reason why the Reds, Cubs and now Brewers always have a problem with the Cardinals. If Pujols doesn't run off of first guess what? The situation ends like that.

Also, Morgan also has the 3rd highest WAR on a 1st place team 11 games away from clinching his division. You call him mediocre, I call him a big contributor to a division championship team.

No argument here, Carpenter is a whiny asshat. In defense of him, the only problem he has started with the teams you mentioned is none of them. Phillips called the Cardinals bitches and the fight wasn't even a game he was pitching, nothing has come of him and the Cubs (he actually diffused some stuff back in the day with Sosa after Zambrano had his blowup with Edmonds), and Morgan - sorry, T Plush was the one running his mouth the whole game (seriously man, it's on video after his double.) I'd say the situation never happens if Morgan - sorry, T Plush handles being struck out late in a tight game like an upstanding youth league hockey player would instead of screaming immediately and throwing a mouthful of chewing tobacco.

He's a mediocre player having a nice year largely dependent on his defensive value. Nothing new for him. 5 years in MLB, 3 of them between 0.9 and 1.1 WAR and a couple goofy outliers. I hope the Brewers keep him around.

I have no idea why you keep mentioning his hockey days. At all.

After striking out Morgan he said "F-- you" and Carpenter turned around. Morgan yelled back to him "F you, p--" to Carpenter. And he tossed his chew in his direction. Carpenter was turned around and Morgan starred him down and began walking back to the dugout. Pujols or "Alberta" as Morgan would call him decided to run towards him like he was involved. So Morgan said "F you to" to Alberta. The fact that Alberta got involved confuses me as Molina (who we all know has a short temper as it is) was standing by Morgan and didn't say anything to him.

Yes Morgan does talk a lot. He has his whole career. So why now is it such a big deal? Is he the only baseball player to ever talk crap during a game? Is this breaking the so called "un-written rules" of baseball that baseball Jesus Albert Pujols and Tony LaRussa hold so sacred their hearts? Like how according to LaRussa your not allowed to pitch inside to Pujols? Or that the lights at Miller Park are changed from when the Brewers hit and when the visiting team hits? Or is it the fact that the Brewers are stealing signs?

So do I. Because between Gomez and Morgan the Brewers will always have an elite defensive player in CF. And on a team like the Brewers who are terrible on defense it is really nice to know that at least one position they are above average.

Alright, this is getting dumb. Morgan was chirping after his double, that's plain to see. Carpenter struck him out and chirped back in the 9th (I guess. I still don't know how he could have said anything before Morgan starting talking, but for your sake I'll say he did). Instead of taking it Morgan immediately started running his mouth, walked down the line instead of to the dugout and threw a mouthful of chew in Carpenters direction. Then Pujols came in.

Look, there's a reason it's you against the world (Cards fans, Cubs fans, the entire media) here. It's obvious to everyone that this is on Morgan. His talking isn't just now a big deal. He's been outcast despite being a decent player from teams going nowhere and has been criticized as a dirty player before. I understand he's a guy on your team, but it's pretty obvious that he's a total ass.

Oh, I mention his hockey days because he's built it into his bad boy persona. Like the fact that he played youth hockey makes him a badass when in reality he's a 5 foot 10 165 pound slap hitting center fielder. He's as bad ass as Omar Vizquel.

Pretty much. He has been a tool/crazy person for quite a while now, well before this season. I hate the Cards as much as the next guy, and my reaction to watching that highlight last night was something along the lines of "He should have charged the mound so I could see Carpenter beat him to death". He's got quite the attitude for a guy who would have his ass absolutely handed to him by 95% of the players in the league.

I have often wished he would charge Big Z for some reason.

yeah, he got struck out and instantly started yapping. i don't know how that works, it's like getting mad at someone for dunking on you. that's just blatant player hating.

he would never pick a fight with a man crazy enough to snap him in half and suck the marrow from his bones in front of the whole world.
