Good luck to everyone..

Just a question... Arod is day to day, and has the + sign by him. If I don't play him until he comes back, I can swap him in for Moose can't I? We've been fine with swapping out day to day guys in the past. Just want to make sure.

Not getting all of the pitching matchups I want this week. But if I can make it through I will have 4 starts from Verlander and Cliff Lee ready for Tim :-).

Looks like I am going to have some tough pitching matchups next week. I'm hoping something happens to switch up the DBack's rotation to bump Saunders back one start. It would make a difference of him pitching at the Rockies or home vs the Padres.

ugh

I was supposed to have two Halladay starts that week, but he got his schedule shifted with the hurricane. Now I only have six starts for next week and I'll have to pick someone up off waivers.

No offense, but I'm cheering for Juan!

you always feel good going into the playoffs with half your offense consisting of jemile weeks, mark trumbo, james loney and emilio bonifacio. i'll go to battle with those guys any day of the week.

injured list now includes hanson, josh johnson, rollins, cruz. yikes.

Good start. Up 24 points with a 2 start advantage. You think you can beat me 3 times in one season ;-)?

Not likely. I seem to be down to five starts next week as they're semi-shutting down Pineda for the year. I think I'll be getting knocked out next week.

On the bright side, if Hanley and Morneau continue having issues this season and get shut down by their teams, I might be able to keep:

Hanley

Longoria

Upton the better

Morneau

Hosmer

Napoli

Greinke

Pineda

Latos

plus whatever I can get in trade for Halladay & Cano.

that group only has 175 points to work with, don't see any way they don't get to 2000 unless hanley and morneau stay hurt and a couple of others get hurt. you'll likely be able to make it without keeping napoli, though.

i already know that i'm losing a year of exemption on trout, kipnis, goldschmidt and rizzo, so now i'm left to hope that none of them reach 200 ABs and lose minor league exemption too.

Your going to want to trade for Verlander anyway to give your team a shot next season, so I'll just take a couple of those guys from you and you don't have to worry about AB's ;-).

Not sure as to why I am getting 3.5 points for Verlander. He is set to start on the 2nd, and looking at the box score he didn't pitch anything out of relief today.

Commish can you remove those?

here's an issue i have with the "can't keep someone you pick up once the playoffs start" rule.

i have a ton of injuries. i may need to drop one of my injured guys to have a full lineup should i make it to the next round. now if i drop josh johnson or somebody so i can maintain a roster, i should be able to pick him back up (assuming nobody else grabs him first) and keep him if i want.

if i wasn't in the playoffs, i wouldn't care about keeping a full roster, so i would just have a bunch of injured guys in my active lineup and it wouldn't matter. but i shouldn't be at a disadvantage as far as keepers go just because i'm in the playoffs.

i think you should be allowed to keep anyone who was on your roster at the end of our regular season. i.e. if i drop jimmy rollins then pick him back up in a week or whatever, i should be allowed to keep him. this doesn't give playoff teams any advantage over teams out of the playoffs as far as keepers go.

thoughts?

I would agree with this. Roster should be "frozen" to some extent at the end of the regular season. Maybe we should be allowed to expand rosters for the playoffs?

I'm fine with this.

Or expand the DL during the playoffs.

Easiest thing is just to let someone play with an illegal roster during the playoffs as long as they can justify it to their opponent's (and commish's) satisfaction.

i have 335 points this week with only 5 starts... brandon mccarthy had 83 points in 2 starts, marcum had 65 and austin jackson had 45 points. and my second baseman is on the DL so i got 0 points from that spot. could've been a 400 point week if i were actually playing this week.

Shane,

Morneau has been sitting because of his concussion symptoms, but won't be DL'd due to the expanded rosters in sept. You mind if I go one over on my roster for a day to get the seven starts this week?

Of course not.

i guess he's agreeing to this, so whatever, but what the f? i've been dropping players left and right to make sure my roster is legal. i'd have like to kept cruz and left my roster illegal for a few days...or street...or dempster...or sizemore. are we just scrapping roster rules at this point?

were you not there for the conversation around this question where pretty much everyone was fine with this kind of thing, including me? I have no problem with you picking up the players you dropped to make room due to injuries.

Managing fantasy rosters in Sept is a bitch because no MLB player is ever put on the DL due to expanded rosters.
