Tim said I could start this thread, so here it is.

We released Nick Barnett today. Not much else going on with the team at the moment, but I'm sure there will be plenty of transactions in the coming days and weeks.

Glad that we have started this thread. I like Barnett better than Hawk, but I guess his injuries caught up to him. After being very durable early in his career two of the past three seasons ended in injury. Bishop appears bound for stardom and Hawk will be solid at the other spot.

Is this the end for Barnett?

By all the reports I've read, yes. Barnett will either be traded or released. GB has a lot of money tied up at inside linebacker between Bishop and Hawk, and Barnett was merely the odd man out. Unless he's willing to take a major paycut, and possible backup role, I do not see him being back.

I meant his career, he only played 4 games last season before a wrist injury.

Definitely not. I think he'll go back to a 4-3 scheme, which fits him much better than the 3-4 did. The wrist injury isn't one that should hurt his career long-term. He still has several good years of football left in him.

He was one of my favorite defensive Packers throughout my teenage years, so it does kind of suck to lose him even though everyone saw it coming. As long as he goes to a team outside of the division, I'll definitely root for him. The same applies to Cullen Jenkins too.

Mason Crosby was re-signed for five years. He had a disasterous 2009 season, but rebounded well last year. One less thing to worry about.

Daryn Colledge seems all but gone.

Sad about Barnett leaving as I always liked him, however like previously mentioned he has been injury prone and at best he's the 3rd best MLB on our team. Makes sense and I wish him nothing but the best in the future.

I think Jenkins will get paid pretty well somewhere else and that will hurt. Green Bay was a complete different team with him on the field last year.

James Jones is a tricky one. Rodgers has come out and said he wants him back. And despite his numerous drops last year I still would really like him back. But if not I am cool with rolling with Jennings-Driver-Nelson-Cobb-Swain and the return of Finley. Can't wait for the pre-season gets here.

Jones is expendable. WR is probably our deepest position. I'd lock Jenkins up if I could, though.

Colledge going the Cards. Jenkins close to a deal with Washington. Jones close to a deal in Minny.

Wish we'd have held onto Jenkins, but they probably have some extra money now that Haynesworth is gone.

Jenkins deal with Redskins fell through and they signed Stephen Bowen.

Cullens is supposedly down to Cowboys or Saints.

Yeah, my buddy is a big Redskins fan and is quite saddened by that turn.

Gotta say one thing for Redskins fans. They have interesting offseasons.

All ten draft picks are signed and ready to go.

Poppinga and Tauscher were cut yesterday, while Brandon Jackson was signed by Cleveland. Corey Hall was signed by the Saints.

I'm not really sure how I feel about Colledge leaving. I never liked the guy, but he could fill in at a lot of places. With that said, the Eagles are pretty freaking scary.

I'll say. I hope we don't run into them come playoff time again next year, or the outcome could be different.

Packers agreed to terms with WR James Jones on a three-year contract.

It's hard to love from a fantasy perspective, but Aaron Rodgers and Donald Driver reportedly "went to bat big time for Jones," which may have played a role in GM Ted Thompson's decision to pull the trigger. Jones, 27, posted career bests in catches (50), yards (679), and touchdowns (5) last season while playing in a near-even rotation with Jordy Nelson. That rotation is going to continue this year, which will keep both wideouts as inconsistent fantasy options. It's good news for Rodgers, but bad news for Nelson and Driver.

Apparently James Jones has resigned for three years. Details of the contract have yet to be released.

I like that the Packers decided to keep him. Add to him the talent the Packers lost due to injuries and the new draft picks, I am excited about what this year's team will be able to do on offense.
