Logan Watkins has now gotten on base in 34 consecutive games.

I think Hoilman deserves a bump up from Boise. He's already 22 and has been destroying that league, as well as showing a great eye. Might as well move him up and see if he has continued success.

The problem is that there may be no room to bump him up with Jones at Peoria, Bour at Daytona, Rebel at Tenn, and LeHair at Iowa. Each of those guys is doing pretty well at their respective levels.

also, he's struck out in almost half of his ABs.

It appears Candelario is alright after being taken out after 1 ab yesterday. He was 1-1 with 2 more walks in a 6 inning game today.

How about DeVoss in Boise? 3 for 4 the day after stealing 5 bases. And starting at 2B.

Very solid start by Wang as well before giving way to Rosario, who imploded. Seems like Wang deserves a trip to Peoria. Really like his K/BB and hit rate...and all seem to be improving.

yeah wang's control was a little off (3 BB, 2 WP in 4 innings) but have to like his K rate... he'll definitely be seeing full season ball next year as long as he's healthy.

2011 draftee neftali rosario made his debut for the azl cubs and went 2-4 with a double and 2 K's (through 8 innings anyway)

Saying the obvious, but Nick Struck needs a lot of time to refine his stuff. Watching him yesterday, it felt like some of the stuff he could get away with against less advanced hitters, getting them to chase and so forth, he couldn't get away with it in AAA.

Arizona Phil on Neftali Rosario, Gioskar Amaya, Oliver Zapata, and the rehabbing Jesus Morelli and Jim Adduci: http://www.thecubreporter.com/2011/07/20/rosey-debut-cub-draft-pick-mesa

Playing 3B tonight (he moves around between 2B-3B-SS, but his best defensive position is 3B), Gioskar Amaya had three more hits, raising his slash line to 400/435/488 (he is now 4th in the AZL in hitting). The 18-year old Venezuelan also scored two runs, stole a base, and laid-down a picture-perfect textbook sacrifice bunt. He is a magician with the bat, an ideal #2 hitter.
