Is there a "Wells sucks" camp? I said Wells sucks in that he sucks so far this year.

And if someone else had posted Wells sucks without adding the so far this year part after only 5 starts, would you not have gotten on their case hardcore?

I think the problem people who have a problem with Wells have is that as a finesse pitcher, when you watch him, he's just not convincing. By that, I mean when you see power pitchers like Z and Garza at their best, they just look dominant, whereas soft tossers just never look that dominant, even when they are unless your talking about a guy like Maddux. When you see these finesses, they just always look hittable even when they're fooling the hitters. I'm not saying its true, its just an impression

If they had a history of really dumb posts, sure. But I have a history of almost nothing but brilliance so that doesn't apply.

who cares? he gets people out and his k rate is reasonably good, so obviously it's not just smoke and mirrors. i'd rather have randy wells than a guy who can throw the ball through a brick wall but has no idea where that ball is going.

Yeah, Randy Wells is not a 5th starter.

Look around the league. Most teams 5 starters are probably on par with Wells. Its not his fault that we only have 3 starting pitchers that are better than him when we should have 4.

name 10 teams with 5 starters who are on par with wells. note: 10 is not "most teams" but if you can name 10, you at least might be onto something.

hint: you may just want to not do this and admit you were wrong.

Probably am wrong, although there probably are about 10. As I've stated in the past, as long as Wells is cheap and semi effective, I'm OK with him. Once he's up for a pay raise, I'd prefer some other team give it to him.

if you can find 10 teams in major league baseball whose top 5 starters have a 116 ERA+ or better (minimum 150 major league innings), no joke i will send you $100 in the mail.
