It seems pretty clear that Wood will probably sign on a year to year basis, but the chances of him going anywhere else are about zero. He could have gotten a lot more money from someone else this year if that was what was important.

Hes struggled at times, but he really hasnt been pitching like a guy whose at the end of his career, and unless he wants to give us another massive home town discount, chances are he'll be pitching elsewhere next year anyway.

 

Because of all the talk about how he only wanted to come back here after Santo's funeral and blah-blah-blah. Like it or not he's not getting traded and he's not signing anywhere else.

Can we at least agree that if we were to entertain the idea of trading him, a lot of teams would be very interested?
