with all these 3b getting hurt, isn't anybody going to make me an offer for chipper/d wright?

Perhaps people don't view chipper as the slution to an injury problem at 3b

It's on now! Rodelo gets a no-hitter (66 points) out of nowhere from Liriano.

Clearly, everyone's bringing their best against the defending champ.

I have been lucky the last two weeks with Liriano - I bench him last week and he produced -16 (or something like that but it did not help me win) and this week decided to play him because the Sox sucks and yahoo - a no-no...

I had the opposite luck in the league I have him in. I had him active for his stinker last week and benched for his no-no. :-x

can't get a much worse swap than this...

According to MLB.com, Arizona SP Ian Kennedy will pitch against Colorado on Thursday instead of on Friday in San Diego. Manager Kirk Gibson said he wants to keep Kennedy pitching every five days.

Just to add insult to injury, the Santa Ana winds should subside by Thursday, which means the marine layer will be back by Friday. In other words, Petco will play less neutral than it did the last few days.

any reason that the live scoring says i have 5 PSR's when i've quite clearly only used one starter (mcclellan) this week? not to mention it showing tim having 6 left when he's used colon and latos.

It only recognizes the starts you have in your starting line up, or guys who were in your starting line up that have been returned to the bench. I just looked at both of your teams in live scoring and it's right. You have 5 starting pitchers with a start remaining. Tim has 5 remaining, plus Bartolo Colon is showing to have one even though he has been returned to the bench at some point. Live scoring shows all of the roster changes made at the very bottom of the starting line up part of the page.

Yeah, I never look at that statistic. I only look at the totals for the week when it comes to "GS". I look at that and how many pitchers are still due to pitch for the week.

The basic spirit of the rules is for this to be a weekly change league (with exceptions for things like injuries), but starting pitchers have been treated differently for the past few years. When I first joined the league you were allowed to have five active starting pitchers (set by the beginning of the week as with other positions). The problem with that is that the outcome of a matchup might be determined not by quality of performance but the luck of the draw where one manager's pitchers may only have five scheduled starts for the week while the other manager's are scheduled for eight starts. We didn't want matchups determined based mainly on who had more pitching starts that week, so we adopted the seven start rule and allowed flexibility for moving pitchers in and out during the week so you can get your seven starts without going over.

so basically i put ichiro back on my bench (can i have 0.5 points since ichiro whiffed twice tonight while jackson just had a normal 0-4?) can i remove jackson from my lineup and replace him with napoli (who was playing catcher, but has been replaced there with victor martinez coming off the DL)

the rule about not subbing position players during the week seems pretty dumb to me - after all, how much of an advantage are you really going to gain given the very limited benches - but i'll abide by it.
