trading the entire roster for 2 guys seems like a pretty good idea

Didn't say it was, just showing it could be "possible" to meet the demand to take on Hedo. But looking at the actual hypothetical it is, when I look at it.

Rose-

Hedo-Pargo

Deng-

Boozer-Gibson

Howard-

Hedo would be a stretch to play SG, but if you trade him all alone, you could try and trade for a SG with no wait (just can't combine him with other players). ie- Hedo for SJax.

Plus 28th pick, 30th pick, 2nd rounder, MLE, and BAE.

Its not happening plus there will be a lockout and no trades and new rules that negate any of this hypothetical (oh and Orlando holding out for better offers), but keeping 3 of your top 4 players for Howard and Hedo is a great deal from a talent standpoint.

Are there any other realistic trade candidates for Howard besides the Lakers?

I so wish Howard didn't want to play in a major market. The Pacers could give the Magic pieces they would like (at least I think so, others can correct me if I'm being crazy) and could probably build a great team around Howard. It would be too risky to trade for him though with the chance he would walk in two years.

What would you see the Pacers giving up?

I like the OKC trades I've seen bandied about centered around Westbrook.

George, one or both of Hibbert/Hansbrough (hopefully only one), Rush, Stephenson/Price if the Magic wanted either, and Posey to make the salaries work, and picks as needed. Don't know if that would be enough.

Although if the Magic would take Granger/Hibbert/Rush and picks, I would really like that trade. But I'm not sure the Magic would want Granger other than for PR reasons because of his age.

I still think Thibs is a very good coach, but this is damning.

Thibodeau ran pick-and-rolls 16.2 percent of the time Tuesday, just a bit lower than the series average for Chicago. He shouldn't have run any. That 0.28 points per play the Bulls scored on pick-and-roll sets Tuesday is the most stunning stat of the series. Thibodeau has been outwitted by Spoelstra in this area and instead of waving the white flag, Thibodeau has chosen to ram his head repeatedly into the wall. The Bulls scored just .21 points per play when the sets terminated in a possession for the ballhandler--ie., Rose. Rose turned the ball over on five of the 14 PNR Ballhandler sets in the game. There was no change to Chicago's approach after Miami demonstrated in Game Three that it had gotten the hang of defending Rose in the halfcourt. The results on Tuesday demonstrated the folly in Thibodeau's way. Live and learn.

This a timeline of snippets from the realgm game thread on tuesday:

"I hope Thibs lays off the pick and rolls. they really haven't generated much offense for the Bulls in game 3"

-

-

-

"Dammit, they are running a lot of P&Rs early on. Thibs its not working, switch to something else"

-

-

-

"OMG THEY ARE STILL RUNNING P&Rs WHAT THE [expletive] DOES THAT EVER WORK?"

-

-

-

"OK its halftime, Thibs will realize the P&R isnt helping anyone. Rose looks like [expletive] whenever he runs it."

-

-

-

"OMG ROSE JUST TURNED THE BALL OVER AGAIN OFF A SCREEN"

-

-

-

"Bulls are losing by 6 with a minute left in OT, and Thibs calls for ANOTHER P&R....why God why?"

So they actually ran it LESS THAN the first couple games and this guy says they should of abandoned it completely? They were down 2-1 by a slim margin going into this game and a play that is 15% is the cause of their latest loss which they had the ball the final possesion? If they abandon the PNR completely that would be freaking jacked up.

Is it wrong that I kinda want this to end tonight? I don't think the Bulls can come back from 3-1 down, so it feels lime a win tonight is just going to ensure that Miami closes the series on their home court

Yes. The bulls need to fight and show what they have as a team (not like the Lakers did this year). Put pressure on Miami to close it out at home, this series is closer than 3-1. Its going to be the Bulls V Heat next 4-5 years they need to keep going after these guys.

I don't know what your point is. That the Bulls should keep trying something that hasn't worked for them?

I'm pretty sure 0.28 points per play means they have to run it 8 times to get a FG out of it. And in those 8 plays, Derrick turns it over 2-3 times.

What? OK, I'm not feeling so good about them coming back. In fact, I'll be shocked if they do. Miami has been the better team, especially when it really counted.

But all they need to do is win 2 at home, and steal game 6 in Miami. They almost won game 4, so it can be done.

I'll take the 1/10 shot of winning the series over denying Miami a celebration on their home court.

Do you think they'll celebrate any less fervently or be less annoying in Chicago? Not a chance. I'm rooting for them not to celebrate at all; remote as the chance may be.

Yeah. Their celebrations after making routine baskets and drawing fake fouls are nauseating as it is.

Go Mavs. Unless of course they are playing the Bulls.

Now can we get some officiating help today please? Don't they want to make some extra money in a 7 game series?

Oh, nice jump ball there buddy. Threw it over to the Heat.

how does anyone get outcoached by spoelstra?

Pat Riley does a lot of the scouting, bet he has a lot of input.
