New 7-day DL created

It will go into effect on opening day. It's for concussions only, from what I understand.

I remember some talk about this during the offseason but hadn't seen anything about it for awhile. I like the idea, but not if it's restricted to concussions only. There can be other injuries that would require a player to miss at least a week but not necessarily a full 15 days, so they should be included as well. There's been a 7-day DL in the minors for as long as I've been following them, and I'm certain that's not limited to concussions only.

From the article I posted, it didn't say anything about usage for anything other than concussions. If it's only limited to brain injuries now, I'm sure it would be modified in the coming years for the reasons you listed.
