Warning.

I thought I had marked my keepers, but because I didn't "SET MY LINE-UP" it didn't save my choices for keepers. I would hate have someone think that they have selected their keepers only to find on Valentine's Day that their team is missing.

+1

As a math teacher I find myself perplexed. +1 meaning....?

Shorthand for "I agree."

I should have known. :? I guess I have been grading too many papers of late. Thanks for the clarification.

Two years ago I marked my major leaguer keepers but didn't realize you also had to mark your minor leaguers, so after the deadline had past I no longer had a minor league roster. Fortunately Juan was able to restore it. Marking keepers and having the rest of the players dropped automatically is a nice convenience, but you do need to be careful about it.

If you don't think Pujols & Felix were worth the #1 pick, I don't know what to tell you.

If you think Pujols & Felix is worth Halladay, then it was a good pick. I can't keep Halladay so he is available.

Well, at least there's no suspense over who I'm picking first now.

we really need to do something about post-season trading. as i've said before, you're trading free agents, which is stupid.

sure, tim gave up pujols and felix, but wasn't going to be able to keep either of them (at least certainly not both), and now he gets halladay to replace them. he lost nothing and got halladay.

I am able to keep both of them. Why wouldn't Tim have been able to do the same?

dlocks, I saw your trade offer and I thought I was accepting and I must have accidentally rejected it. I don't know if you pulled back the proposal or if you're still interested - if you are, I offered the same package again. Please accept by the deadline (midnight tonight) so I can set my roster accordingly.

Thanks!

Right - if he doesn't respond back by 11:30ish Eastern, I was just going to go ahead and go with my other roster.

I don't know if I clicked the wrong button and accidentally rejected the trade offer or if he just rescinded his offer when I went to accept it. Not sure what happened. =\ I hope he checks in here, RK or his PM box.

He hasn't set his keeper list yet, either. There are several team that have not done so yet. I'm getting awful nervous. I'm sick as a dog and ready to climb back in bed after working all weekend.

i selected my keepers, but it wouldn't let me drop the guys i wasn't keeping.

Interesting. Might be part of the auto keeper drop process. I know some people were paring down their rosters before I set it up to mark the keepers.

1) If I weren't able to trade, I would have kept at least Pujols. I carried his points every other year in the league.

2) Not sure why you're still beating this horse. Everyone else is okay with it. You're not convincing anyone.

I withdrew the trade as the clock was ticking on the deadline.

I wonder if Brian entered the time as midnight Feb. 14 and CBS interpreted that as meaning at the end of the day rather than the beginning. I know midnight is technically the beginning of the day but not everybody thinks that way.

This is correct. If Brian set the actual date as 02.14.11 then the keepers won't be set until after midnight tonight.

everyone else is ok with it because a) i'm the one opposed to it and b) you're the one in favor of it. everyone [expletive] their pants when i picked up eric young jr during the season, but everyone's ok with you trading free agents. i think it's safe to say a little bit of that has to do with what the league thinks of the people behind the ideas.

and it's nothing personal against you. you've never prevented me from winning the championship, so it doesn't matter that much to me. i just think it's kind of a nonsensical system.

Dammit Tim!! Did you brainwash me into this trade?!?

FWIW, I have never been in a keeper league where you were NOT allowed to trade players on your roster during the offseason.

You would probably enjoy a dynasty league more than a keeper league.m

In general, I'm not a huge fan of trading players you couldn't keep anyway, but if you can find a suitable trading partner and that partner thinks the player will add value; then I don't see an issue with it. In a way, it's like some of the MLB teams in the offseason who know they can't resign a player because they'll cost too much and have to trade them to a willing partner. Dan Uggla from the Marlins to Braves is one example.

I do have one idea to maybe add control to this, particularly when it comes to draft picks. No team can have more than two, 1st round draft picks. That avoids a team from being able to just load up at the draft, which I think is reasonable in a 16 team league.
