MLB.com's Joe Frisaro reports that the Marlins "may seriously consider" trading second baseman Dan Uggla this offseason.

Uggla rejected a four-year, $48 million contract offer from the Marlins this weekend. He's still under team control for another year via salary arbitration, but the Fish might as well deal him now if they have no chance of locking him up long term. Uggla has tallied at least 30 home runs in each of the last four seasons and should be able to net the Marlins a few prospects

Wasn't Colorado trying to get him during the season? I wonder how many homers he could hit if he's put in that kind of environment

I'd be really interested in Uggla, but not at the price the Marlins are likely to demand. Rumors have had them asking for a couple arms and two or three legs in negotiations for Uggla.

Also add to the fact that he only has one more year of team control and if you want to keep him past that you are going to have to commit somewhere around $12-15m annually to him.

He's been extremely good and consistent for them, but something tells me that anyone who signs him to a 4 year 60 mill type of deal will wind up not getting close to their money's worth out of it........

The lower end of that I could definitely live with. At 15 a year, though, I'd be less enthused.
