Uhhh.....what? The farm director is now the AAA manager?

I'm going to guess Fleita will fill the vacancy by hiring the AAA manager. He is in charge of minor league development, so hiring minor league managers seems like something he would do. If he's becoming the AAA manager that would indicate a really extreme cost containment plan by the Cubs.

lol I was gonna say, if the Cubs are going to hire their farm director to fill the AAA manager as well, we might as well be in panic mode because the team is in deep financial trouble.

Maybe it was bad wording on my part. Yes, Fleita will fill the vacancy, but he'll do so by hiring someone, not by taking the job himself. Bottom line: Oneri will not be Iowa's next manager. Sorry if I caused any confusion in the story.
