No matter what happens here tonight, the Padres need to sweep the Giants to contend for the division.

Now they have to win 4 straight over SF.

I'd pay to see that !

I am reading a Giants blog right now and looking at their comments. They are really really loving the Cubs right now (obviously). They are praising the team for not just playing out the string, they are campaigning for Quade to be the next manager. One even said the Giants should owe the Cubs a favor for the next time the Cubs need one.

Glad we could at least ruin someone elses year since ours was completely irrelevant.

It actually feels pretty good to put the next to last nail in the coffin to some team.

When it's all you got..... you gotta savor it !!

When I turned on the game and saw them wearing those damn 1984 uniforms it made me really want the Cubs to make them and their fans go home unhappy.

Any team still giving David Eckstein the starter's share of plate appearances deserves nothing less than what they get.

The fact that they have seven players with over 200 PAs and an OPS under .700 but they're still in playoff contention after leading their division most of the season also makes me happy that the Cubs all but derailed their playoff hopes.

Does serving up a meatball to Gary Gaetti in the 1998 Game 163 count as a favor? Because we could just be paying them back.

On a side note, there's really no team I don't want to see win out of the NL. I guess it'd be mildly annoying if Dusty won with someone else, but it should be a fun, interesting postseason.
