Tennessee is up 7-1 going into the 8th. Carpenter pitched 6 strong innings, striking out 8 and walking 3. Brett Jackson, Robinson Chirinos, and Tony Thomas have all homered.

poor clevenger... absolutely raked in the second half and chirinos usurps his spot. though to be fair, chirinos is the better hitter and played much of the year at tennessee.

 

brett jackson is 1-3 with a walk and home run. chirinos has doubled and homered and tony thomas also has a homer (second 3-4 game in a row for him). carpenter had a good start: 6 ip, 4 h, 1 r, 0 er, 3 bb, 8 k, 99 pitches/63 strikes, 6 GO/5 FO.

The Smokies emphatically tie up the series with an 11-1 drubbing or should it be thumping...I'm going with thumping of West Tenn. Matt Spencer added a 3-run HR in the 8th to cap it off.

 

It's now a best of three.
