They were a little rusty early, and looked like they were doing some adjusting to Stalberg and Hossa back in the line up. But, they didn't sit around and wait for Hossa to do something. The defense cleared the loose pucks in front of Turco, and they were patient in the offensive zone, took advantage of their opportunities. Frankly, that third period was incredible. The BJ's are lucky they didn't lose 8-1.

Yeah they were really flying. I was only half watching the game, but I never noticed Stalberg on the ice. Guess that's to be expected though his first game back.

Kane might be back tomorrow, then let's get on a roll.

Four straight wins is nice, but this team still needs something like an eight of ten streak to bring some seperation from the bottom of the pack (6-3-1 in last 10). They still only have a three and four point lead over teams with two and three games in hand, respectively. The next five games may be key, going up against western contenders in each one before facing a couple eastern conference dogs.

Patrick Kane bought his dad a Stanley Cup ring for Christmas just like the $30,000 rings the team got.

I hope my dad doesn't see this note.

Yeah, mine too.

Though I did get him tickets to see the Hawks play in Minneapolis in February (he lives near there).

Some separation from that mess would be nice. Pretty big game tomorrow night to start off this stretch. Lots of home games coming up before that long trip.

Confirmation on Kane's return in the Tribune:

"I'm back in," Kane said after the Hawks' morning skate. "It's pretty exciting and I'm pretty happy about it, too. Skating and shooting, everything is pretty fine. We'll see how it is during the game. Right now it's probably as good as it's going to get for a while. I'll probably have to deal with it for a little bit."

The Hawks went 5-2-1 during Kane's absence.

Forward Fernando Pisani has the flu and won't play. Other likely scratches are defenseman Jordan Hendry and forward Ryan Johnson.

Marty Turco will start in goal as Corey Crawford continues to recover from the flu.

Okay, turns out I'm not going to the game because it's sold out and tickets are going for twice face on the secondary market.

Which is a double whammy because now not only will I not be there, but CSNC will be blacked out and I'll have to watch/listen to Kelly and Panger.

John Scott's a pretty bad hockey player but I love watching the dude fight.

Yeah he can throw 'em.

Toews just got destroyed. Can't say it was a dirty hirt, but I hope the guys start throwing the body a little more out there.

And Toews isn't on the bench now. It'd be awful if we got Hossa and Kane back and lost Toews.

Yeah he needs to be okay.

Hot damn Turco is out of his mind right now.
