They've got a regular AAAA murderers row down in Iowa. Too bad Jay Jackson got rocked like a hurracaine.

It sucks to see the wheels seemingly falling off of Brett Jackson, but damn, Brandon Guyer is really bringing it. Are Smith(25) and Guyer(24) too old for their respective levels to be considered top propects, because they should be given some top 10 consideration. Of course Im talking our farm system, not all of baseball.

25 and 24 are certainly not too old for those levels, but you should take things other than this year's stats into account when evaluating a guy's prospect status.

I do, but usualy, the peole that make the lists dont. Once a guy turns 25, they no longer seem to be viewed as a prospect. If you look over the top prospect lists, you usually dont see a lot of 25+ guys.

The wheels falling off? He had an OPS of .760 in August. Not great, but respectable for a guy making the most difficult jump in the minors. He's striking out entirely too much, but that's the only big knock against him. He's going to be fine. I'm a bit more worried about Jay.

I think Guyer and Smith will be on a lot of people's top 30 lists this offseason, with Guyer slightly higher than Smith. For me, both will be a little lower in the rankings due to age, but they also suffer a bit from lack of consistency over the years. Guyer might be around 25ish and Smith 30ish.
