I'm often on record as saying I don't give a good God damn what any athlete is on; if it means they can do amazing things that entertain me then I welcome it.

I mean, really, when the anti-PED people start calling others naive it's adorable. Practically everyone is on something. They still have to be amazing athletes to do amazing things.

As much as you want it to be, this isn't a video game. There are real life impacts to athletes doping

I'm not even that outraged by PED's, I just found it funny that someone would find it disgusting and reprehensible to suggest that a record breaking Olympic sprinter would be suspected of juicing it up. What you are stating is a lot different than what I was responding to. If you are cool with everyone doing it, that is fine. I'm not looking to enforce a sense of morality here.

So the implication is that Bolt is dirty and everyone else is clean? Or that Bolt's PEDs are so much better than everyone else's that he's able to beat everyone else and eat a sandwich for the last 50 meters of each race? Or that he's just faster than everyone else but his marginally better drugs make him historically good?

There's "real life impacts" to simply being a professional athlete, so quite frankly I don't care if they choose to use PEDs or not.

I'm more with Mojo, where I feel like bringing it up as detracting from their accomplishments is boring and negative. From Theo's comment, I inferred that he meant Bolt was benefiting from them when no one else was. I either hope that everyone else is clean or no one is, I guess.

Show me this person, so I may mock them as well. I swing a big ass battleaxe.

I hate this attitude. Wouldn't you rather be proven wrong about actual PED use than right? This is relentlessly negative and frankly, disrespectful.

Yes, how terrible that athletes in one of the dirtiest/suspect Olympic sports have to deal with public skepticism. Just awful.

So no clarification then? Just pithy comments about Bolt and PEDs as if that somehow lessens his accomplishment?

I'd rather they all be clean because then I would know the actual times based on natural ability. I would like to know what is really possible devoid of chemical assistance.

That's wishful thinking though.

It's track and field, of course he's on something. Him and every other person with a chance of winning a medal. No PED in the world is going to make him take 3 fewer strides to cover the same distance as everyone else though. He's 4-6 inches taller than his main competition, that's more advantage than taking slightly better drugs would ever be.

But then why aren't all world class sprinters 6-5 then? You would think they'd have the market cornered.

It's not, but there is also no realistic way to stop it.

By the way, Bolt is not a proven user, so until he tests positive he's officially clean.

I don't think "Well, they all do it" is an adequate defense for any athlete

They're all on supplements of some sort, it's just a matter of if they are legal supplements or not.

It's a transparent octopus. With a DJ in the head. And legs twitching & dancers all along it.

Oh hell yea let's party!

My problem, of course, was the implication that he was in the minority for PED use. Never that his accomplishments were cheapened because of it
