The Cubs' offense wants me to win this week. They rolled over and played dead against Vargas last night to help my cause.

Or maybe it's just because they suck.

My vote goes to the "suck" option.

At least you missed Greinke and Felix

Ya, I started getting pissed with Cain, but then realized it would probably be the last bad start for a while. Well, that and he's been about the only decent, consistent piece of my team. Still, ugh.

The key to having a good team seems to be pitching. More so than in the early years of this league IMHO.

Last year, when I was in playoff position most of the year it was largely because average pitchers were having better than average years. When I fell out at the end of the season it was because some of those pitchers (Washburn in particular) remembered and started pitching down to their true talent levels. And this year my turnaround was when my pitching (especially Vasquez) started coming around.

The problem is that pitching is more unpredictable than hitting.

Pavano has put you very much back in it.

Pedroia to the DL, picked up Kouzmanoff and inserted him into my starting lineup.

This is true.

My offense this year is OK.

But my starters have been injured and awful and yet at the beginning of the season I thought they would be good. Billingsley, Floyd, Jurrjens were all projected by CBS to score more than 600 points. Arg...

But it does seem that the top teams have the top pitchers.
