Again, why does Soriano not even attempt to steal a base? Ryan Doumit is the worst defensive catcher in baseball, and has thrown out next to no one on the season. Soriano singles, then stands over on first with the smallest of leadoffs. So frustrating.

 

Because Burres has already intentionally walked Castro once.

 

 

Soto was up after Soriano singled, so Castro's AB had nothing to do with the situation.

 

Because Soto is one of the best hitters in baseball right now, and running into outs with him at the plate would be a foolish thing to do.

 

 

Or Soto could've had an RBI chance. It's not like it's Molina behind the dish, Doumit is awful. I know I'm in the minority on this, but how a guy goes from 40+ stolen base speed to nothing in 3 years is beyond me. His knee is obviously healthy again, as evidenced by his offense so far.
