Intrigued to see how Diamond does tonight. Does he still have a realistic shot at being a big league starter? Not to sound crazy but would it be unreasonable for the Cubs to consider making him a reliever?

Even if he has his stuff back, he'll have to improve his control to have any impact as a late inning reliever.

Whats wrong with him as a starter?

Nothing. I was just answering CT's question.

Something's been kind of nagging at me lately. Brett Jackson has been hitting for a high average and his .120 IsoD has been an enormously good sign for his prospect status. His strikeouts are also down a smidge compared to last season. However, his power has been fairly lacking through almost 100 ABs. The FSL is notorious for putting a damper on power numbers, but he's had no home runs and only 7 XBHs. That makes me wonder.

I know the power is there, but when will it show up?

I'm actually kind of wondering if the Cubs are wanting him to hit for contact right now and not power, especially in the FSL. I know that they give prospects certain things to work on and all, so maybe he's sacrificing it on purpose and trying to cut down on the K's......If that's the case, my guess is the power shows back up once he's in Tennessee.

Of course, it could all just be a coincidence and he hits 5 homers this next week too. :D

I still somewhat wish that Morla would get a chance to see starting time this year. I like the arsenal and potential. He could be an intriguing pen arm type, but the stuff is good enough to make me curious about him as a starter. The A's were pretty cautious with him.
