there were weeknights out as well. when i'm traveling on the company's dime with a buddy from work, i'm rarely just chilling in my hotel at night. i don't doubt that there are hot chicks in nyc, i was just surprised that the ratio was so low.

Did you stay in midtown and/or times square area?

yes - almost all of my experience in nyc is midtown/edge of times square. next time i'm out there, you'll have to show me where they hide all the pretty ladies.

If the Heat add Bosh and nobody else significant, and the Bulls add Boozer and nobody else significant, how many wins would you guys project for each team?

I was there last weekend and it was unreal. We spent time in upper west side, lower east side, tribeca, and chelesa I think.

Top-notch.

A statistically projected look at the free agent class: http://www.basketballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=1175

Early indications are that Salmons is going to be the guy with the most money for the least production.

Wait, if Salmons opted out and is a free agent now, why didn't the Bulls just keep him on for the season?

Because he sucked and there was fear that he'd opt back in, thus preventing us from getting a max FA.

Because the way he was playing for the Bulls, he likely wouldn't have opted out.

Ric Bucher just said something on SportsCenter about the ridiculous contracts that the reason is that the owners aren't just hoping to cut back future salaries in the next CBA but are hoping to cut back existing contracts also, even though they were signed before.

Lockout definitely coming if the owners are really going to do that.

Yeah, well unfortunately those are a combination of tourist traps and the part of the city that never sleeps that sleeps. And where I work. It's office space and hotels, no real neighborhoods or bars.

This can't be real:

Ric Bucher on ESPN News just said that he's heard from people within the Miami organization is having some "second thoughts on giving Bosh a max contract" because of his behavior since becoming a FA. He's seemed more into the media attention and "brand building" and less concerned with the basketball side of things.

Fixed.

Maybe it isn't real, but he and Wade have been arrogant pricks since this kicked off, in my estimation.

In what way? I mean...tweeting too much? Other than that, what have they done?

Those "people" in the Miami organization are going to get overridden...Miami won't pass on Bosh if they can get him.

Definitely.

There's still no chance that it's real.

Go back in this thread a ways to find the stuff Wade said about recruiting players who fit with him. And yes, Bosh's constant tweeting rubs me the wrong way. LeBron doesn't seem to feel the need to do that, nor does anyone else in fact...except Wade.

And "those people" are probably saying that to scare off other suitors.

i think they're actually just having fun with all of this, knowing the media and the fans are hanging on every shred of relative nothingness. more power to them, this is an unprecedented event, might as well have fun with it.

Ehhh...tweeting doesn't bother me. I can see your point about some of the things that Wade has said, but I dunno...Bosh is just a little excited about getting paid something around $100 million, and I can't say I blame him there....

Maybe if it was a rookie that hadn't played a game yet that was doing the same things Bosh is doing it would bother me more.

Low 50s for the Bulls. Mid 50s for the Heat.

The Bulls really need to get a shooter if it's a guy like Boozer and no other stud--hell they need one no matter who they sign. The Heat need to get more front court pieces so they're not murdered in the paint.

I heard Wade brought his own camera crew to his meeting with the bulls and is creating a documentary on the process.

I'd probably watch it. What's the problem there? Did you have a problem with Eric Karros recording events around the Cubs in 2003? Was he being an arrogant prick?

I don't feel one way or the other, but you're not making an apples-to-apples comparison: Karros was making a doc around his team, not around him and his role in selecting a team.
