Sharks have outshot the Avalanche 42-7 over the last two periods.

LOL. And the Sharks lose less than a minute into overtime on an own goal.

LMAO

the sharks are just incredible at losing. if i were a sharks fan at this point, it would almost be past the point of disappointment and to the point of sheer hilarity. i can't imagine a better (worse?) way to lose a game.

It reminds me a little of the Cubs giving the Dodgers 7 outs in an inning and every IF having an error in the game.

I was just on ESPN.com and checked the score of the game and it said SJ won 1-0 in OT. Then I went back a minute later and it said COL won 1-0 in OT. ESPN was correct in that a SJ player scored a goal.

That was unbelievable. I don't see how the Sharks come back from something like that, even if they did apparently dominate that game.

random thoughts

Jimmy Howard has not been good. I am not blaming him for the Wings being down a game, but he has not made any big saves. No one in Detroit seems to be making an issue of his play even though he has given up 12 goals in 3 games

I think players like Adrian Aucoin show how much better of an organization the Hawks have become. Aucoin was a good dman who signed with the Hawks during their bad years and played like complete crap. He gets away and has become a good dman again. My guess is he would be a solid 3rd guy if he joined the Hawks again.

I am really not sure what to make of the Sharks. I think they probably really need to start crashing the net some more and not worry about puck possession as much. But that will expose Nabokov more and I am not sure he is up to the challenge

The Flyers beating the Devils is the biggest surprise to me so far.

Kopecky on the PP...WTF!!

One of the more underrated issues with the Wings from this past offseason was the losses of Hudler and Samuelsson. I love players like Draper, Eaves, Helms and Adlekadar. However playing 4 players like that instead of 2 does take a lot of scoring ability away. Also, Cleary does not create for himself well so playing on a line with Helms and Miller takes away a lot of his scoring ability

they've been ripping Howard pretty bad on The Ticket today

there are threads about it on the 2 wings pages that I read now. I am not gun ho on changing or anything, but until today he has gotten a free pass

Canucks were probably robbed of a goal right there. On review, it was overturned for kicking. Didn't look like it to me, but whatever. I really dislike the Canucks, so it's not like I'm biased on this. (It's now 4-3 on another goal... should be 4-4.)

all i'll say about the disallowed goal is that it was really really close and that i was really really happy with the call. great call refs! several more like it pls.

didn't like the way we played in the third but i'll take it. luongo looked awful.

My co-worker is a hockey nut....and a Sharks fan.....here's the IM I got from him this morning after mentioning the game....

yeah outshot the opponent by nearly 40 shots and lost 1 minute into OT...typical shark post season...they will be eliminated by either colorado or the next opponent

I'd be fine with Colorado finishing them off. They are dangerous. If they ever figure *it* out, whatever that is, they could roll all the way to a final with the Caps. And what a series that would be.

I'd love to see Colorado finish it off so the Hawks could face them in the 2nd round. I know its a case of be careful what you wish for, but the alternatives (Vancouver/LA Kings, Detroit/Phoenix) scare me more.

^Absolutely agree. I have to think, win or lose, the Sharks are seriously going to wear out Anderson. He won't be able to withstand another barrage like the Hawks will bring if they can get past Nashville.

Does the bracket reseed after the first round? Because otherwise we won't see Colorado until the Conference finals, right?
