You need great goaltending - gone

Niemi didn't have any great games in the finals, but he saved our asses twice. Once after they tied it and once in the OT. Amazing saves or we would be pissing our pants about Friday night.

Man...I wanna go to the parade....but it's at 10:30...I'd have a 2.5 hour drive (if there was zero traffic...ha!)...not to mention parking...plus do I want to bring a 3.5 year old to that madness? *sigh*

btw, kudos to philadelphia for showing your true colors during the postgame.

booing the conn smythe presentation? just great

what would have happened in chicago if the flyers won game seven and chris pronger won the conn smythe? if your answer isn't "booing" then you're a liar.

except that jonathan toews isn't a huge douche that is hated by everyone in the nhl

nice comparison though

lol, well assuming that everyone thinks pronger is a huge douche and hates him (which they don't, but clearly you don't know anything about how the rest of the players in the league view him) then replace pronger with danny briere and let me know what hawks fans would have done if he'd scored the overtime winner.

Can't imagine how this feels for the longtime die-hard fans who have been through not just rough years but almost total apathy during some of Bill's years.

The Flyers have some marbles. You always hate a team in a long, important playoff series but that's a tough talented team.

My Dad was 8 in 1961 and he's been there all along. The Hawks were good but not quite there my whole life until 1997 when the wheels came off. It's been a rough go, but it's all good now.

Yeah it's kind of a weird feeling for me. Not nearly as intense as it would be with the Vikings or Cubs because I've only followed the Hawks since '07-'08 and only started watching every game mid-season. A ton of fun but also have kind of the guilty feel because the investment wasn't there. The peeps who have been there have to feel so rewarded but amazed that this came so quickly since the Kane/Toews era began.

Pretty bummed but I'm stuck in the desert until Friday night. Would definitely take the day off and drive up.

Now I can't wait for that banner to be raised in October.

Rocky on WGN!

I write this as someone who is the father of the world's current title holder for greatest coward, but that sounds like something a 40 month old would love. It also sounds like something a 40 month old would wet his pants at.

toews didn't score the ot winner

the point is that booing the conn smythe winner is weak when that player has given you no reason to boo him

just watched the replay off malkin winning the conn smythe in detroit last season and yep, very little booing Edited by 17 Seconds

I think that's the biggest one. Would be fun in a week or so to randomly read a few pages in this thread from March.

Y'all watching WGN? I been checking out the CSN postgame.

It's been pretty funny so far. Their coverage is so low-level.

Yeah it sounds like I am missing out, lol.

he played well in this series and helped the blackhawks win. so pronger played half the game and played solid defense against your top line, and committed a few penalties that allowed your team to score power play goals. he didn't hit anyone dirty or injure any blackhawks players during the entire series.

chicago fans would have booed anyone on the flyers who won the conn smythe because that player would have played well and hawks fans would be upset that their team didn't win. just admit that there really isn't a difference between fans of most teams. it's okay, you can do it.
