good start for alberto cabrera today (not sure if he's done), although the BABIP fairy was kind to him: 6 ip, 2 h, 0 r, 0 bb, 2 k, 8/8 GO/FO.

thomas diamond has been pretty good - 4 ip, 3 h, 1 r, 1 bb, 4 k.

so far jon nagel has been good - 3 ip, 2 h, 0 r, 0 bb, 6 k. i'm interested to see how he does this year... last year was his first one off TJS; by now he should have his stuff and command back to where they were before the operation.

Not sure if it's just my computer or not, but......Truffle, where are you getting in-game boxscores for Daytona and Peoria? Milb.com is showing me Iowa and Tennessee's, but not Daytona and Peoria's for some reason......

Castro has an RBI single in the first, by the way.

There's a part of me rooting for a guy like Mike Perconte. Unless memory is slipping me, he was a UDFA. Solid effort today.

I'm trying to find positives in the D-Cubs bats despite the slow start, and I like the fact that Brett is taking walks.

I hope T. Diamond can keep this up. that would be a sweet pickup.

Obviously, excited about Starlin.

Not sure what I expected out of Austin Bibens-Dirkx, but he did better than that today.

ugh, I can remember how excited I was by his performance in Boise and the fact that some thought he was just tapping into his ability. Hey ... at least he's taking walks right now. It's gonna be tough for him to get time at 2nd, with Flaherty there, Samson, Opitz perhaps, and a guy like LeMahieu behind. I half-wonder if they'll ask him to pick up and OF glove, but if not, he may need to maximize all his opportunities early to stick around.
