erik, if i got upset everytime you said something stupid on this board, i'd be insane. pointing out a stupid post isn't getting upset. upset would be like freaking out in a gamethread during the second inning of the first game of the sea... oh wait

Oh, you mean when I said they were going to lose? And they DID? And you were too much of a [expletive] to actually put your money where your mouth was, so to speak, and put a wager on it? If I was so wrong to predict a loss in the 2nd inning and you were so confident they were going to win, why didn't you take me up on that ban bet?

Why's that? Because you knew I was right? Thought so.

And you were insane far before you ever heard of NSBB.

Nice ninja edit there.

And answer the question at hand. Are you practicing for a future career in politics by not answering anything asked of you?

Your silence is deafening.

oh ok, let's get it back on topic then. what was asked of me.

Why you didn't take me up on that ban bet on Opening Day when you're getting on my case for calling the game over in the 2nd inning? If you were so confident I was wrong, you should have taken me up on it.

Aww, that's why I thought for sure you'd take it! And you should reconsider that mud thing, otherwise you'll never find yourself a wife.

Don't tell me I'm wrong when you're thinking the same thing. We both knew they were going to lose.

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled thread... if Meph were still here he'd be having a fit, as he apparently didn't believe that pitcher fatigue led to anything negative.

It's been fun, imb. Gotta get up early for work tomorrow. Peace.

The article doesn't mention what kind of sensors are used and how they are used to measure "fatigue" - I'd be interested to read about that.because I'm intrigued by how they do it.

Perhaps it uses the pitcher's "rested" delivery motion as a baseline, and then any major deviations from it is considered "fatigue", perhaps the signs we use now... release point is messed up or his arm slot changes? I have no idea, I'm just guessing.

It is interesting how technology changes sports like this, though.

I'm sure it is proprietary information. Plus the article is intended for a mass consumption audience.

I'm also intrigued. There are is a large array of potentially useful sensors that could be applied here to measure the movement, stress and more. Some of the things I'm thinking would be very useful would also be somewhat invasive, though, so I'm not sure how they could be applied and still leave the pitcher complete freedom of movement. I know those shirts are tight and tend to stay in place, but the sensors generally require absolute positioning. Or absolutely stable positioning if nothing else.
