Sabermetrics trade their 7th round pick in the 2011 draft for Quakers 7th round pick in the 2010 draft.

Juan, I assume that you can make this a sticky.

No, Saber Metrics trade their 7 round pick in 2011 for the Quakers 7th round 2010 pick and the rights to keep the draft moving faster. ;)

Yes, typo. I didn't really try to pull one over on you.

Tootielicious trades their 8th round pick in the 2011 draft for Quakers pick in the 2010 draft.

Is this for any random draft pick in 2011, or did you mean to specify a particular round.

You all should start this entire thread over, because I'm certainly confused.

I don't understand the confusion?

The whole thread is mass confusion, not just your post where you don't mention which pick of yours you were trading.

D-Block trades 3rd round pick to Saber Metrics in the Haren/Bay trade.

No offense, bukie, but that's a horrendous trade for you.

In hindsight, I should've asked for a higher pick, probably, but I also had roster issues to deal with soon, so I wanted to get something done quickly.

A generally top 10-15 OF and a top 5-10 pitcher for a third round pick, a mid-level prospect and a good but-not-outstanding-pitching prospect? I wish you had shopped around a bit more. I may be leaning towards selling, but I would have paid that for Haren alone, most likely.

TBH, I have some concerns about Haren and Bay this year. If I'm wrong, of course, and they are lights out like they were last year, I did terrible. I had my OFs and SPs on the block for 3 weeks now, and was also a bit impatient because I was soon losing minor league eligibility on a couple guys who have been lights out this year. The more I think about it, the less I like it.

Yeah, I would have paid more for those two than you got.

NSBB trades Dee Gordon and his third round pick in the 2011 draft for Adam Dunn.

Thought I could get more for Adam, but it was the best offer that I had and with this latest loss...

The pendulum has really swung as to how much the early round picks are being valued in the league. It's really hard to pry those first and second rounders away from people, even for the stars in the game.

I agree. When Juan reduced the keeper point total then the value of draft picks went up.

I traded my 2010 #1 draft pick last year for Miggy Cabrera, but short of a similar situation (trading for a superstar when I feel I'm in contention) I can't see myself trading that high of a pick. Not are there better players available in the draft than before the cap decrease, but it would be harder to keep the player I trade for and stay under the cap.

now nobody [expletive] give tim back all these draft picks he's losing by taking on players he's going to drop at the end of the year.
