First of all I've been thinking about getting MLB.TV this year and was wondering what everybody's thoughts were on it.

Second is there any way to see what Cubs spring training games will be on it? All I see is that there will be over 150 spring training games, but I don't know how many Cubs games there will be.

I love MLB.TV. It's great to get almost every Cubs game (except Fox & ESPN blackouts). It also helps that I live outside the Chicago viewing area. I hook my computer up to my TV and watch with HD clarity. I also stream the video on my iPhone while I'm at the gym or the ballpark. It's great stuff and highly recommended. The best of all the major sports.

it's great if the cubs are good. but if the cubs suck and you stop watching them daily around june, then you wasted your money.

Ive had it for 4 or 5 years straight. Each year something new comes out and it takes a couple weeks for them to iron out the problems. Last years quality was pretty damn good, only draw back was it lagged the real time by about 30+ seconds. The non premium was close to live and still good quality. I think its worth the extra $20 alone to get the home and away broadcasts. I cant remember how many spring training games, 10+? I didnt follow those as much as i have in the past.

I think if I get it I will get the premium for sure. They have a deal where if you try Sports Illustrated you get $10 off.

Actually appears to be $20 off, making the Premium 99.99 and the Regular 79.99 -- not bad, especially considering they are both HD feeds this year (where available).

The SI deal looks really good to me too. Where's the catch? Appears canceling the SI subscription during the Free period shouldn't be a problem (provided that you wanted to, I guess).

Subscriber's Automatic Renewal Program: After your 3 months (14 issues) of SI, YOU AUTHORIZE Sports Illustrated to charge your card in time to renew your SI subscription, without interruption, before the start of each new annual term unless you cancel. The charge for the first renewal is $39.00 for 56 issues and at the low subscriber rate then in effect for all subsequent renewals. You may cancel at any time during your subscription by contacting SI at http://www.sicustomerservice.com or 1-800-528-5000 and receive a full refund on all unmailed issues. If your card cannot be charged, SI will bill you directly instead. By receiving SI you agree that the billing information you supply for the MLB.com payment will be transferred to SI. SI will handle this information in accordance with its own privacy policy. This offer is valid only once per customer with valid mailing address in the United States and Canada. Sports Illustrated publishes five double issues. Each counts as two of 56 issues in an annual subscription. Sports Illustrated may also publish occasional extra issues.

If you have an iPhone you need the app. It's only 14.95 for the season subscription and worth much, much more. The quality in 3G is pretty damn good and wifi is nearly perfect.

Premium is NOT live, FYI. It's masked as "live" while really its a few minutes behind the SD feed just to allow for the DVR functionality. That said, it's worth it, IMO especially for non-Chicago areas viewers obviously.
