I've been rich and poor. The difference in happiness isn't what you'd expect. I've generated a favorite phrase to describe it:

Being rich can't make you happy. But being poor sucks.

Think of a curve that goes like this:

                ----------------------
			/
		----
	   /
    ---
   /
    --
/
  /
 /
/

As you get richer, the amount of additional happiness each dollar brings diminishes rapidly

People have different perspectives on the degree to which money would make them happy, no doubt. But I think we can pretty safely say that being rich is better than being poor by a fair margin (and I mean truly rich and truly poor, not upper middle class v lower middle class, which are names I hate to use). I also don't think too many people would disagree with your last sentence, though I think the dollar level at which those happy returns diminish is probably different for everyone, as is the speed at which they diminish.

NC, you think this is the last go round? or we let him loose now?
I agree with Truffle. As long as there's a chance Guzman can still be serviceable I think he's worth keeping. What I read indicated that the injury wasn't as bad as first feared (he's still out for all of this year). It's not like they need to exercise an expensive option to keep him.
