The Hawks have to be a special circumstance. People talk about the woes of being a Raiders fan, but they were in a Super Bowl not too long ago. The Hawks actively screwed their fans more than most people. I don't feel too bad about "abandoning them", although I went to more games the past 10 years than I did the previous 10 years. Plus it's hockey, and always fighting for more fans, so the concept of a bandwagon just isn't the same as NFL or MLB teams.

 

 

There were many pre 84 Cub fans who resented the newer fans also. It just is part of the deal. Winning brings more fans. And dont let Red Wing fans fool anyone either, they were pretty much a non existent fan base until the early 90s, me included.

I hate to draw everything back to the Blackhawks since not everyone is a Hawks fan, but this reminds me of the SJ game we had on that road trip last month, where they went out and got 3 real quick goals the first 10 minutes of the 1st period. Let's hope the comparisons stop there.

They aren't that big of underdogs, and had to be favored in this game, no? I think they were universally accepted as about 4th on the list this Olympics, and in only the Canada game have they been dogs.
