Important Offseason Dates

Blatantly stolen from Cot's:

Close of 2010 World Series

The day after the end of the World Series marks the beginning of the five-day period during which clubs retain exclusive negotiating rights with their players who will qualify as free agents. A free agent may engage in general discussions with other clubs but may not discuss contract details or sign with them until the five-day period ends. (The window for exclusive negotiating rights ran for 15 days through the 2009-10 off-season. Under new rules put in place for the 2010-11 off-season, eligible players become free agents at the conclusion of the World Series and no longer are required to file for the privilege.)
