yeah his numbers this year don't seem all that impressive until you realize that he's been out of high school for 2 years. with that in mind, he's probably one of the 30 most valuable commodities in the game.

Moderately on topic: Curtis Granderson is the only player in baseball (2009) to reach the 30 HR plateau with an OPS of less than .800 (.779). Tejada was the only other one to come close (29 HRs, .797 OPS, so HR 30 may have disqualified him!).

This seems like a rather rare combo. Is this as weird as it seems to me?
