I'm surprised they're not walking Soriano.

should that be in green? The only guy Id walk Soriano to get to at this point is Miles.

That's ridiculous. Granted, Baker had 4 hits, but still: NSBB hyperbole strikes again.

The Cubs arent exactly a bad team, they're just not good enough to outscore their opponents unless they're playing really bad teams.

That about sums it up. They are an extremely mediocre team who takes advantage of the teams below them and gets beat up by the teams above them.

Haven't they only won 2 series' against teams with winning records this season? Mediocrity at its finest right there

2 series wins vs. Teams over .500 all season. Yes they split with the Dodgers and had a couple of 2 game splits but that is pathetic.

Cubs + Golden Opportunities = EPIC FAIL

The last time we won that series against a +.500 team was in freakin' April, also. APRIL. I'm stunned.

Soriano has been absolutely horrible since Lou rested him in game 1 vs. Florida. why walk him to push the runner into scoring position when you have a guy whose 4-4 coming to the plate?

Out of curioisty, how many series have the Phillies won against teams with winning records?

Soriano Sucks

Soto Sucks

Marmol sucks

Miles is worthless as usual but we don't need to beat that horse again

Just bench Soriano and Soto and send Marmol to the minors and send a real message....surely aren't winning with em, lets try it without em

No idea cause i'm not a Phillies fan and i could care less to try to look it up right now

This team is really at a crossroads right about now. They can go the 2004 rout and completely roll over or they can come to life and start beating the crap out of bad teams, which they'll be facing a lot of after this series.

Soriano has shown several times this year he can win games walkoff-style while either looking like ass the rest of the game or while been mired in a horrid slump. I forgot that Fuld wouldn't have been up after Baker, though even so I wouldn't have been surprised if they opted to walk Soriano.

IIRC, the downfall of the 2004 team was not being able to beat bad teams.

I remember a very unpleasant series against Montreal in early September of 2004 that pissed me right the [expletive] off.

Obviously, your're going to lose more games vs. good teams than you would vs. bad teams, or else they wouldnt be good teams. However, the fact that they're completely helpless vs. over .500 teams is not a good sign.

Maybe.

How many of the remaining games are against teams above .500?
