Just got back from the game.

[expletive] this offense. They deserved to lose with ZERO [expletive] HITS AGAINST TERRIBLE PITCHERS IN THE PEN.

I don't think at any point did I feel they could pull a run out either. It was just a matter of waiting for the Phillies to score. We were just happy we got out before the Green Day concert ended.

[expletive] Cubs.

I have tried as hard as I can to remain optimistic and positive... but I think this might be the end for me, guys. I just really don't think this team has what it takes. Even if we win the division, it'll be another three-and-out. The worst part is that there is little chance that we'll be better in the next couple years. I really hope I'm wrong.

I would probably give up right about now and start selling anyone we can, though. Alot of people on this forum say that we have nobody that we can trade, but that's not true.

I don't think a fire sale will happen. But this offseason some major changes need to take place, starting with the General Manager, and working down to the offense.

Tonight was easily the most frustrating loss of the year. If these last two nights don't show Jim Hendry that we need help offensively, I don't know what will. I'm getting tired of this script. It seems like every single game we lose is due to piss poor offense combined with a stellar pitching performance by a starter that goes to waste. Our bullpen was even lights out tonight against the freaking Phillies and we still couldn't get a HIT let alone a win.

I'm glad that Lou said we need some bats (the plural part being the best part). Maybe Hendry can actually wake up and do some work over the next week instead of sleeping and doing nothing productive, like our offense.

What sucks the most is that Harden pitched really really good and it went to waste. That seems to happen a lot this season.

Everyone keeps talking about Ibanez vs. Bradley, I eefing guarantee you, if Ibanez was signed he'd be in the midst of the worst season of his career and the Cubs would be exactly where they are. That's the way it works, it's the Cubs.

But how many changes can we really make?

-Were stuck with the unholy trinity in the outfield. They aint going nowhere.

-3rd base is solid. 1st base is solid, at least for another year. catcher as well.

-Theriot will stay, but will he be a SS or 2B

-This basically leaves us with an offensive upgrade in the middle infielder, unlsess they really plan on taking a huge bath on Bradley. Its happened before, but I have to assume he at least gets 1 more year before hes dumped.

It's a mortal lock that we score 6 runs in his next start and he gets crushed and we lose 8-6.

(I'll be at that game, and the two after, so that'd better not happen)
