Peoria Journal-Star[/url]"]The biggest thing is being able to throw strikes. He walked 84 last year in 115 innings in Lake County and has walked a team-high 41 batters this year with the Chiefs.

“His goal and our goal (coming out of spring training) was to cut that down,” Peoria pitching coach Rich Bombard said. “His stuff is definitely there. If he can stay healthy, he’ll be out there every five days and hopefully his command will improve.”

Archer is 3-2 with a solid 2.01 ERA in large part because he’s able to work out of the jams he creates with the walks. Archer has struck out 75 batters in 62 2-3 innings.

“That shows you he has stuff to be able do that,” Bombard said. “The key is, he has the ability to strike people out. If he can cut down on his walks and improve his command he has the stuff to do well.”

With Chris Carpenter’s promotion to Daytona last week, Archer assumes the role of most consistent starter on the Chiefs. The next thing lesson to learn is how to be a true No. 1 pitcher.

“Tools-wise he’s probably higher than Carpenter,” Pevey said. “He’s throwing an easy 95 without max effort. I guarantee there’s 97-98 in there. Once he figures that out, you’ll see him carry himself a little different.”

Nah, Lenny's boy is Cutter Dykstra. He's playing in the Brewers system.

On a side note, last week, Lenny Dykstra filled for bankruptcy. He claims $31 million in debt.
